Fire Protection Seamless Steel Pipe Maintenance & Cleaning
Aug 06, 2026
Fire protection seamless steel pipes are hollow, joint-free steel tubes with excellent corrosion resistance. Oxide scale and scale deposits may form after long-term operation. The standard cleaning process is as follows: 1. Pre-rinsing Flush the pipes to remove sludge and dirt to improve pickling efficiency. 2. Pickling Soak in acid solution statically for 2 hours, then circulate dynamically for 3–4 hours with forward/reverse flushing every 30 minutes. Reuse the acid if pH>2; otherwise neutralize and drain. 3. Alkaline cleaning Circulate alkaline solution (NaOH, Na₃PO₄ and softened water) to neutralize residual acid and prevent corrosion. 4. Water rinsing Rinse thoroughly with softened water for 30 minutes to remove all residues. 5. Recording & inspection Record all operation time and check the final cleaning effect. Regular maintenance ensures stable pipe performance. The above steps can effectively remove oxide scale and scale for daily upkeep.
